Catch the only awards show where winners are decided by one's peers
Actors, like most of us mere mortals, are a jealous lot. We rarely praise the brilliance in others but love it when others see it in us. The 18th Annual Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards, by that measure, is a rare occasion when they do both.
Two panels - one for television and one for film - each composed of 2,100 randomly selected Guild members, chose this year's nominees.
Lauded by critics for style, simplicity and genuine warmth, the Screen Actors Guild Awards, which made its debut in 1995, has become one of the industry's most prized honours. It presents 13 awards for acting in film and television in a two-hour show.
The awards focus on individual performances as well as on the work of the entire ensemble of a drama and comedy series and a motion picture cast.
Expect everyone - from Natalie Portman, Meryl Streep and Michelle Williams to Ed Helms, Kevin Bacon and John Krasinski - to be in attendance.
"Over the past few years, Zee Studio and Zee Cafe have built up an impressive repertoire of acclaimed international events. From the Emmy's to the Billboard Awards, from Critics' Choice to SAG, the endeavour is to bring the best of international events, live, to our viewers," said Anurag Bedi, Business Head, Zee Studio and Zee Cafe.
You can watch the SAG live and exclusive from the comfort of your own home by heading over to Zee Studio today at 6.30 am on Zee Studio with a simulcast on Zee Cafe. And if you miss it, there's even a primetime telecast on both channels at 9 pm.
