Feud between: Ayesha Takia and Sidhartha Mallya
What happened: Ayesha's sister Natasha was travelling on an Air India flight from Kathmandu to New Delhi. Thereafter she had a connecting Kingfisher IT 312 flight to Mumbai. When she reached the boarding gate, a staff member from the airline tore her boarding pass denying her entry on to the flight. On hearing about the incident Ayesha took off on Sidhartha Mallya and the airline on her Twitter account, narrating how badly her sister was treated.
What Ayesha said: The worst airline, Kingfisher!!! Shockingly bad airport staff behavior at Delhi airport with my sister. This disgustingly behaved Kingfisher staff called Vinay Podwal just tore my sister's boarding pass and misbehaved with her!! We are going to take serious action against this and go to the court. Let the law handle it, so that this doesn't happen to any girl again!
Sidhartha's reply Been getting retweets about Ayesha Takia and KFA. Not too sure who she is, an actor of some sorts?? But it seems something has upset her!! Don't know why Ayesha Takia is tweeting so much when she wasn't even present. There are always two sides to a story. Pipe down, love. I would first get the clear story before ranting.
Ayesha's comeback Any Indian citizen can stand up for their rights if treated badly, and I don't have to be anyone you know Sidhartha Mallya! You weren't there either so don't be condescending and defend your freaking staff. First find out what happened! You clearly are unaware of a LOT! I will rant. What will you do? This is your way of dealing with a hospitality business? WOW! Learn some manners and respect!!
Ayesha's hubby, restaurateur Farhan Azmi's tweet: Jr Mallya should not have got personal. @Ayeshatakia was talking about #Kingfisher she never mentioned the owners. Will the real Mallya please stand up and take responsibility? Dude. Really? That's your response to a customer complaint of this magnitude? You should be embarrassed. How can an employee behave in such indecent manner with a girl? Yelling, abusing and then tearing her boarding pass. WOW!
Airline spokesperson version: This guest was originally booked to travel with Kingfisher Airlines on IT 312 from New Delhi to Mumbai and we understand that she arrived late in New Delhi and missed her connecting flight to Mumbai. As soon as she produced a confirmation from the airline on which she arrived certifying that their flight arrived late, our staff offered her a wait-listed option on our next available flight, as our next flight was running full. The guest was informed that confirmed seats are available only on the last flight departing at 2300 hours. Our preliminary inquiry into the matter reveals that, at this point, the guest started shouting and screaming at our check-in counters without any provocation and kept abusing our staff. We categorically deny that any of our staff misbehaved with this valued guest. We also deny that any of our staff persons tore her boarding card as alleged. The boarding card had in fact not even been handed over to the guest as she was wait-listed. The guest was treated with full courtesy extended to our all guests at Kingfisher Airlines. We regret any inconvenience that may have been caused to the guest on account of her missing her connecting flight.
