Bollywood has scored yet another high. "Dabangg 2" has beaten " RA.One" and others by fetching an all time high price of 140 cr.
Salman Khan has not only topped the Times' 50 Most Desirable Men lists. He is also the king of Bollywood. The Bollywood business just went through the roof.
Thanks to the advent of multiplexes and over 12000 single screens across India, Hindi cinema has been bettering its collections every quarter.
"Agneepath" just joined the 100 cr club today, though the producers advertised it two days ago. Now news has come in that Salman Khan's Dabangg-2 has been picked up by UTV Motion Pictures for an unheard of 140 cr including the print and advertising costs.
Says trade consultant Amod Mehra, "This just proves Salman Khan's supremacy as the leading actor."
''Dabangg-2" has beaten "Ra.One". For the longest time the trade gup was that "RA.One" was sold to Eros International reportedly for 150 cr. However the producers later issued a statement saying that the official figure is under 100 cr.
"If that is the case then Dabangg-2 is the leader," says Mehra. "Once again Salman has beaten the competition hollow."
